The sign for the Johns River town entry area just opposite the Tavern has been delayed due to submissions from villagers and due to the pending signage on the RTA highway corridor. There are still no plans for a village sign coming southbound near Wharf Road unfortunately, as has been done in other communities throughout the Manning already. Following community feedback and consultation, the Hannam Vale
sign has been revised as per the image and will also be installed in
December. This revision took into consideration community
recommendations and aims to highlight what is on offer in Hannam Vale to
visitors and illustrate the natural assets of the area, through the
aerial image and image of Wataui Falls area.
Greater Taree City Council is working with the RTA to
ensure the signage is complimentary and there is no duplication,
together with consideration of feedback from these communities. These
town entrance signs will therefore be installed in early 2011.
